WebDec 2, 2024 · Normally, SSP is not payable for the first three days an employee is off sick, which are referred to as ‘waiting days'. However, at Budget 2024, it was announced that, from 13 March 2024 SSP would be payable for the first 'qualifying day' the employee is off work, provided they are off for at least 4 days in a row (including non-working days).
